Welcome to St Anthony's Catholic Primary School and Preschool!
We are a friendly, family-centred Catholic school with fantastic outdoor learning resources. We have delightful pupils, supportive parents and an excellent relationship with our local Catholic church - St Margaret Mary in Park Gate, which is led by Fr Ansel D'Mello.
At St Anthony’s we aim to live out our mission statement, guided and led by our Catholic ethos that places Catholic Social Teaching principles of human dignity and the common good at the heart of our school.
Our ambition is for our children to be kind leaders of the future, who lead by example. With our support, we hope they will grow into young people and adults who will make a positive difference in society.
We welcome visits to our school and we hope to meet you soon.
With best wishes
Mrs Katrina Straker, Headteacher
St Anthony's has wonderful grounds and we are making good use of these with a Forest School and Farm School.
All of our children, from our pre-school up to Year 6, love visiting the farm school and tending to the animals’ different needs. Our animals are well cared for and adore the attention from the children. As well as giving children practical skills and an important sense of responsibility, it also imbues our pupils with a real sense of wonder and enthusiasm about nature and the outside world. We hope that this stays with them long after they have left us.
Our Forest School is both an outdoor classroom and an exciting place for creative play - the children love toasting marshmallows round the campfire, building dens and exploring the wooded area with fairy doors hidden amongst the tree roots. Our children love our two treehouses and the zip wire so whether they are outside just to play or to learn some of the skills for their 'Wild Passport', our forest school is intrinsic to the wellbeing and happiness of our pupils.
